The development team at Lionhead Studios says that it has no plans to allow the heroes and the villains in the upcoming Fable Legends title to directly fight each other because that would introduce too much conflict in the community.

Chris Hohbein, a community manager working on the title, tells Total Xbox that, “Villain players will have different sorts of minions at their disposal some more powerful than others – so, while you won’t get to physically fight the Villain ‘one on one’ as it were, the Villain is able to control every minion you encounter including the more powerful ones.”

The fiction of the game will explain that those gamers who choose to be villains are not equipped to go head to head with the heroes, but will have plenty of other tools to make sure that the latter’s plans are disrupted.

He adds, “The idea of villain players attacking towns sounds interesting! But I’d imagine that would be a huge challenge, both technically and in terms of gameplay for those in the town! Nevertheless, always good to hear ideas!”

Fable Legends is designed to take place a thousand years before any other adventure set in the land of Albion and will include an upgraded look for the game world and a series of new mechanics.

Hero players will need to wisely choose their powers and then work together in order to take out enemy creatures.

Villains need to carefully manage their own resources and strike when their enemies are in disarray and unable to help each other.

Fable Legends is designed to use the extra computing power of the Xbox One in order to make long-term fans view the land of the Albion in an entirely new light.

The game should be out at some point in 2014, exclusively on the Microsoft home console.
