About a week and a half ago, a lioness living in captivity at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in the US delivered two healthy and too-cute-for-words cubs.

Despite the fact that it has had several other litters in the previous years, Oshana, i.e. the baby lions' mom, refused to look after its latest offspring. Hence, keepers at the Park had to step in and adopt the two cubs.

Lionesses have been documented to abandon their cubs both in the wild and in captivity, and wildlife researchers are yet to figure out why this happens.

Zoo Borns tells us that the cubs are a male and a female. They are now being hand-raised by staff at the facility, and are thriving despite the fact that their mom is nowhere near them.

The cubs haven't been named, and are weeks away from making their public debut. However, something tells me that people cannot wait for them to finally show their adorable faces in public.
