Staff at Zoo Miami are happy to announce that a baby lion born at this facility last year, on December 15, is now thriving and growing stronger every day.

Information shared with the public says that, during its first few days of life, the cub, born to first-time mom Asha, was rather weak.

Vets examined it, and noticed that, instead of gaining weight, it was getting slimmer. Shortly after, it was discovered that the baby lion was suffering from several bacterial infections. Zoo Borns tells us that, looking to get the cub back on its paws, keepers started offering it extra food.

Thus, they started feeding it about three times a day, and it was not long until their efforts paid off and the tiny lion started feeling much better.

The same source tells us that, although it is vaccinated, healthy, and fairly confident, the cub is to stay clear of the public eye for several more weeks.

When it makes its public debut, be sure you will learn about it here.
