The event has started today and the theme is “Open minds create effective solutions”

LinuxTag, one of the most important Linux and open source software events in Europe, has begun today and will end on May 26th.

LinuxTag 2012 is the 18th edition of this conference and it's held at the Berlin Fairgrounds. Users and Linux developers alike will find out all the latest news and innovations there. The event is organized by the LinuxTag Association in partnership with Messe Berlin GmbH.

This year's slogan is “Open minds create effective solutions” and the main topics to be discussed are Android projects, enterprise storage, especially in regard to the rise of SSD solutions, as well as methods of system management.

Some heavy names from the industry and the Linux community will be present, such as Oracle, BerliOS, Clonezilla, Debian GNU/Linux, Gentoo Linux, Microsoft, Mageia, Ubuntu, VideoLan, and many others.

The entry is not free and the tickets can be purchased either online or at the gate. A golden ticket that will get you access to all the events, lectures, and so on, is just € 285 ($ 360).
