For the LXDE edition of Linux Mint 8, the developers recommend the following system requirements:

· A modern 32-bit processor;
· 256 MB of RAM;
· 3 GB free hard disk space (for installation);
· VGA video card capable of at least 800x600 resolution;
· A CD-ROM drive or a USB port.

Pretty much the same requirements also apply to the Xfce edition!
