As for Mint 7, it is what Ubuntu (9.04) should be like in the first place. Possibly it's the case with Mint 8 too.

However - I still wonder why it's nessacary to make an unike distro to obtain this, instead of making a "brush up" package to be installed on an original Ubuntu installation ?

In my oppinion, it's a distrohell out there, causing difficulties to turn Linux into a maninstream OS for the non-technical users. They are confused enough regarding Windows versions.

I have using other distro for my PCs and laptop. But when I let my students try all those distro, they insisted on using Linux Mint 7 afterwards. There is something about this distro made by Clement and his team that really hits the spot for them.

I do hope that this next release will be greater than the previous one, for they are really excited with any new features and improvements.
