Linux Mint community has released today the second release candidate of Linux Mint 4.0 (codenamed Daryna) KDE Edition. Being based on Celena KDE CE and compatible with the Ubuntu Gutsy repositories, Daryna brings many new software and tools, such as:

￭ Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0
￭ Mozilla Sunbird 0.7

"Daryna KDE is not as minty as the main edition but

Through the Mint-powered tools we can notice:

Linux Mint Daryna KDE CE is a DVD only release, but don't despond, as the Linux Mint Community announced that they would release a miniKDE version for all of you who don't have a DVD-ROM drive.

Known issues in Daryna KDE

￭ When restarting or shutting down the Live CD, it will freeze about 25% of the time at the last step. This problem was also reported with Gutsy and no fix was found for it until now. BTW, this happens more in virtual machines than on real ones.
￭ When a new user is created, log in as them and check their KMix settings because they will have no sound. Check the output and PCM levels also!
