After launching the Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon and MATE flavors, the developers have now released the first Release Candidate for the Xfce version.

Even if Linux Mint developers are known for their Cinnamon and Mint flavors, they also release versions with other desktop environments, such as KDE and Xfce.

It takes them a while to work on these corollary releases, but final builds for the other flavors usually arrive within a month or so.

This is the case with Linux Mint 16 “Petra” Xfce, which has just received its first ReleaseCandidate. The official announcement has yet to be released, but we can expect the same kind of features we saw in the other versions.

You can download Linux Mint 16 “Petra” Xfce from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
