The Release Candidate of Linux Mint 13 was announced on May 16th, it is powered by Linux kernel 3.2 and based on the recently released Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) operating system. Linux Mint 13 will be released at the end of May 2012 and it will be supported for five years, until April 2017. Among its features we can mention the new MATE 1.2, Cinnamon 1.4, MDM Display Manager based on GDM 2.20, improved Mint-Z and Mint-X GTK3 themes, 15 new and beautiful wallpapers, Yahoo! as the default search engine, and much more.
Linux Mint 13 RC is distributed as separate Live DVD ISO images with MATE and Cinnamon desktop environments, for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
