14 DAY TRIAL // Greg Kroah-Hartman, the well-known developer and Linux kernel maintainer, has praised Samsung for their latest idea regarding custom UEFI key on their 300T tablet.
It's not every day that a Linux maintainer (or developer for that matter) praises hardware developers for something. The last device to receive a worthy praise was Google Chromebook Pixel, and the Linux maintainer who had the kind words was Linus Torvalds.
Samsung has now integrated a very interesting feature in their new 300T tablet, and that is the ability to add a custom UEFI key, which should make the installation of a Linux system a lot simpler.
“Huge props to Samsung for making it quite easy to put your own keys into the UEFI bios on their latest tablet (300T). Very happy to see manufacturers go beyond the UEFI spec requirements and implement this in a user-friendly manner,” said Greg Kroah-Hartman in a Google+ post.
If this becomes a habit among hardware developers, the UEFI problem might get solved in completely unexpected ways.
