A few minutes ago, July 3, Greg Kroah-Hartman happily announced that the ninth maintenance release for the stable Linux 3.9 kernel series is now available for download.

Linux kernel 3.9.9 is a small release, probably the last for this branch, and includes a couple of ARM fixes, x86 and s390 fixes, mac80211 driver improvements, and various updated drivers.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.9.9 kernel. All users of the 3.9 kernel series must upgrade."

"The updated 3.9.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.9.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary," Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the official release announcement.

As usual, all users of the Linux 3.9.x branch are urged to upgrade their systems as soon as possible. We remind everyone that the Linux kernel 3.0.85 LTS and 3.4.52 LTS were also released today and are available for download from Softpedia, here.
