Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced the immediate availability for download of Linux kernel 3.9.7.

Linux kernel 3.9.7 brings just a few fixes, a few driver updates, and a few other minor fixes. All in all, this is one of the smallest updates in the 3.9.x branch, and it follows a trend set by the previous versions.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.9.7 kernel. All users of the 3.9 kernel series must upgrade.

“The updated 3.9.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.9.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary.”

Users of the Linux kernel 3.9.x branch have been urged to update to the new version as soon as possible.

More details about the changes in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement.
