A few minutes ago, Greg Kroah-Hartman happily announced that the fifth maintenance release for the stable Linux 3.9 kernel series is now available for download.

Linux kernel 3.9.5 includes a few Arch changes (ARM, PowerPC, x86), many updated drivers (ACPI, Wireless, Radeon, i915, Nouveau, ATA, Xen), various filesystem changes (FUSE, ReiserFS, FAT, CIFS, NFS, JFS, NILFS2, XFS, OCFS2), and other small changes.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.9.5 kernel. All users of the 3.9 kernel series must upgrade."

"The updated 3.9.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.9.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary," Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the official release announcement.

All users of the Linux 3.9.x branch are urged to upgrade their systems to this new version as soon as possible. Keep in mind that the LTS (Long Term Support) Linux kernel 3.0.81 and 3.4.48 were also released today.
