The stable Linux kernel 3.4.x branch has been updated by Greg Kroah-Hartman, bringing a few updates and fixes for this old kernel.

Linux kernel 3.4.x has been around for quite a long time and the updates for it are getting smaller with each new release. This is not unusual for old kernels and this branch is probably getting closer to the end of life.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.4.91 kernel. All users of the 3.4 kernel series must upgrade.”

“The updated 3.4.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.4.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary,” Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the email announcement.

If you are using another version in the Linux kernel 3.4.x branch, you should consider an update to this build. Better yet, if you have the opportunity, you should upgrade to a newer version of the kernel because it will provide better hardware support and new features that can't be backported.

A complete list of commits in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement. You can download Linux kernel 3.4.91 right now from Softpedia. There are no binaries for this kind of package and this means that you will have to compile it yourself.
