Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced the immediate availability for download of Linux kernel 3.4.57 LTS (long-term support), bringing just a few modifications to this particular branch.

The previous version of this kernel has been rather hefty, for an LTS, but the new one, 3.4.57, is smaller and features just a few driver updates and network related fixes.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.4.57 kernel. All users of the 3.4 kernel series must upgrade.”

“The updated 3.4.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.4.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git,” Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the email announcement.

Users of the Linux kernel 3.4.x branch are urged to update to the new version as soon as possible in order to fix any issues.

More details about the changes in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement. Download Linux Kernel 3.4.57 LTS right now from Softpedia.
