Linus Torvalds announced last evening, December 16th, that another Release Candidate version of the upcoming Linux kernel 3.2 is available for download and testing.

Linux kernel 3.2 RC5 brings some filesystem updates, especially for Btrfs and CIFS. But the most important changes are among the drivers, like swim3, i915 or eDP. And, as usual, some ARM and x86 fixes are also present.

"That said, this is still a smaller -rc release than previous ones, and things do seem to be calming down. We're at -rc6 now, and while I can see myself doing an -rc7, I probably won't do an -rc8 unles something bad pops up."

"There doesn't seem to be any real reason to drag out this release any more, and we'll probably have the real 3.2 around new years." - said Linus Torvalds in the email.

Download Linux Kernel 3.2 RC6 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it is intended for testing purposes only.
