Just in time for Christmas, Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced a few minutes ago, December 20, that the sixth maintenance release of the stable Linux kernel 3.12 is now available for download.

Linux kernel 3.12.6 is a very big release, actually I think it's the biggest ever maintenance release for Linux 3.12 kernel, bringing several ARM and x86 improvements, numerous updated drivers (Radeon, i915, HID, hwmon, md, Ethernet, wireless, DVB, USB), various filesystem improvements (Btrfs, XFS, NFS), as well as sound and networking fixes.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.12.6 kernel. All users of the 3.12 kernel series must upgrade. The updated 3.12.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.12.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary," Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the official release announcement.

Download Linux kernel 3.12.6 right now from Softpedia. Also, the LTS (Long Term Support) Linux kernel 3.4.75 and 3.10.25 are available for download right here on Softpedia.
