Linus Torvalds has announced the immediate availability of the seventh release candidate in the 3.10 branch of the Linux kernel.

This is one of the smallest Release Candidates from the 3.10.x cycle, so it’s very likely that the final version is only a week away.

“So this is hopefully the last -rc in the series, and things have indeed be calming down finally, so assuming that trend continues, we're all good.”

“rc7 contains a fairly mixed collection of fixes all over, with (as usual) drivers and some Arch updates being most noticeable. This time we had media updates in particular,” stated Linus Torvalds in the official announcement.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official changelog.

Download Linux kernel 3.10 Release Candidate 7 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
