The latest version of the stable Linux kernel. 3.10.6, has been announced by Greg Kroah-Hartman and it's now available for download.

As usual, the new development version released by Linus Torvalds is accompanied by the latest stable one, in this case, 3.10.6. If you remember, this branch has become LTS (long term support) just a week ago.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.10.5 kernel. All users of the 3.10 kernel series must upgrade.

“The updated 3.10.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.10.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary,” Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the email announcement.

If you are using any of the versions released so far in the Linux kernel 3.10.x branch, you should update to the newest one as soon as possible.

Moreover, the users of the 3.9.x branch have also been advised to upgrade to this version, if they want continuous support. Keep in mind that this branch has reached End of Life.

A complete list of commits in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement. Download Linux kernel 3.10.6 right now from Softpedia.
