The 48th maintenance release of the Linux 3.10 kernel was officially announced last night, July 9, by Greg Kroah-Hartman. This build comes along with the Linux kernels 3.4.98 LTS, 3.14.12 LTS, and 3.15.5, for which we have separate announcements on Softpedia.

Linux kernel 3.10.48 LTS has been released to fix two issues in the EXT4 filesystem, update several Radeon, Wireless, SCSI, USB, and TTY drivers, as well as improve support for the ARM, ARM64, and x86 hardware platforms. In addition, it brings networking enhancements, especially for the Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11 wireless drivers.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.10.48 kernel. All users of the 3.10 kernel series must upgrade. The updated 3.10.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.10.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary,” Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the official release announcement for Linux kernel 3.10.48 LTS.
