Immense game cracking possibilities

I'm a huge fan of Mario, but I never thought that, once I got my hands on a PS3, I could play my favorite childhood game on it. Apparently, somebody thought of me and others like me and decided to create a special operating system for the PS3, meant to run older games.

According to play.tm, some are already playing older console games on the PS3, using a Fedora Linux, OS-like application and they use this application to reminisce games such as Pac-Man and Super Mario. MAME and NES emulators are running on the PS3 because these emulators were previously designed for Linux, which is now installable on the PS3's hard drive.

I'm sure that this will not make Sony happy, as they are trying to prevent any illegal titles from being played on their console. Furthermore, they have set up an online downloading service for the PS3, which will allow gamers to download classic PlayStation and PlayStation 2 titles.

But I guess they don't see the immense possibilities this Fedora Linux will provide to PS3 games hackers. I don't want to go technical on you, buy let's just say that it will be much much easier to pirate a PS3 game, without even having to mode your console.
