A new Linux-based mobile phone operating system has just arrived on the table, called Else Intuition and packed inside a handset dubbed First Else. The new device is a full touchscreen phone, which is expected to arrive on the market sometime during next year. The handset in itself is said to be a very powerful piece of hardware, while the software solution on it is also something that is poised to impress everyone.

The new platform has been showcased last month in Japan, it seems, yet now it has enjoyed an official launch in London. Those interested in the new platform and on the handset it runs on at the moment should also note that they both enjoy a website that has been launched specifically to show what they are capable of.

The specifications list of the new handset includes a TI OMAP 3430 processor, coupled with 256MB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. In addition, the phone also delivers a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 854 pixel resolution and support for 262K colors, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and image stabilization capabilities.

Other specs of the new First Else device include WCDMA/HSDPA/ GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE with Quad band 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz & 1900 MHz and Tri-band 850 MHz, 1900 MHz & 2100 MHz support, along with Bluetooth connectivity, and Wi-Fi capabilities. A GPS receiver is also present in the package, as well as a 3.5 mm headset jack, and Tilt, Proximity and Light sensors. The new mobile phone comes with a 1450mA battery and measures 13mm x 56.6mm x 115.6 mm.

The new Else Intuition operating system on the handset comes with a dial graphical menu UI and is said to include over the air cloud backup, as well as multitasking capabilities, not to mention the existence of its own media store.
