The latest announcement for the development branch of the kernel makes an interesting read

Linus Torvalds is not a patient man and this trait has been made abundantly clear in the last Linux kernel announcement, for 3.10 RC5.

Linus Torvalds has complained on numerous occasions about inconsequential patches sent to him, which only make the kernel bigger.

The announcement for Linux kernel 3.10 RC5 is yet another attempt to determine the developers to send more important commits.

“Guys, guys, guys. I'm going to have to start cursing again unless you stop sending me non-critical stuff. So the next pull request I get that has 'cleanups' or just pointless churn, I'm going to call you guys out on, and try to come up with new ways to insult you, your mother, and your deceased pet hamster.

“So don't do it. Send me just fixes to serious problems. Ok?” said Linus Torvalds.

As pointed out by my colleague, Linux kernel 3.10 RC5 can be downloaded from Softpedia. And please keep in mind that Torvalds’ statements are usually tongue-in-cheek.
