Wireless routers are all well and good, but they don't exactly have a very great range, especially when it comes to covering a whole floor in a business building. So wireless access points are needed sometimes, like the ones Linksys has just released.

Called LAPAC1200 and LAPAC1750, they both support 802.11ac technology and communicate over both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

The Linksys AC1200 Dual Band Access Point (LAPAC1200) reached 1,200 Mbps, while the Linksys AC1750 Dual Band Access Point (LAPAC1750) attains 1,750 Mbps.

The routers also happen to possess Power over Ethernet+ support (no need for power sockets) and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings.

Then, there's Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA, WPA2) data encryption, plus support for up to 16 different SSID's and advanced security (802.1X Supplicant, SSID to VLAN Mapping, MAC Access Control, Rogue AP detection). IPv6 is supported as well of course.

The Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Access Point (LAPAC1200) has a price of £151.90 ($252 / €182), while the Wireless-AC1750 Dual Band Access Point (LAPAC1750) is priced at £202.30 ($336 / €244).
