Wi-Fi routers are all well and good, but they sometimes can't cover a whole flat or house, especially if you want signal in your back yard. In those cases, range extenders might do you good.

Linksys has just released a trio of range extenders, called Linksys AC1200 MAX Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE6500), Linksys N600 PRO Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE4000W), and the Linksys N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE3000W).

The RE3000W is a single-band model that extends the range to 5,000 square feet / 464 square meters. However, it can only send/receive data at 300 Mbps.

The RE4000W reaches 7,500 square feet / 696 square meters, and with the 867 Mbps speed of the 5 GHz band, attains around 1,200 Mbps top speed.

That leaves the RE6500, which is similar to the RE4000W but with a range of 10,000 square feet / 929 square meters.

All newcomers are compatible with every wireless router on the market and can stream audio, maximize use of both bands via Cross-Band technology, and take physical connections if needed (4 Gigabit Ethernet ports included). Finally, you don't need to install anything from a CD to get the extender to work.

Sales will start on July 20 for prices of $99.99 / €99.99 to $79.99 / €79.99.
