Lineage II is set to get a new and extremely well endowed Collector's Edition especially for the European market. NCsoft was quick to present details and also set a date for the release of the special offering. So, on April 25 prepare to experience the best that Lineage has to offer for around 80 Euro (which seems a bit pricey, when looking at the 20 Euro price of the standard edition of the game).

Then again, there's a lot of content for your money. Game wise
you get the usual 30-day period to play the game and an extra 14-day trial code to give to someone you want to see trying out the game. But there's also another 14-day trial included in the box and a code which gets the buyer another 15 days to play once the original 30 free days are up. There's a mask accessory that will grant various in-game powers and a token which allows the player to once change his or hers sexual orientation in the game; which seems to be a rather normal practice, given that there are special tokens for this.

Extra material in the Collector's Edition includes an art book detailing most of the biggest and most interesting creatures in the game, a CD featuring Lineage inspired tunes, two big wall posters and an official map printed on paper that looks like it's centuries old. Players will also get a statue and a chance to receive a ticket which can then net them a rare figurine.

NXsoft's move to launch a Collector's Edition especially for the European market is part of their effort to make the Lineage MMO interesting for the whole world. The game has a significant following in South East Asia, especially in South Korea, but is not well known in Europe and the United States.

Recently the game has received an extensive update in the form of Kamael, which mainly dealt with interface and design issues that made the game rather hard to understand and play for a Western audience.

A more content-heavy update, dubbed Hellbound, is set to launch soon, with a new pet system, some legendary transformations and a higher level cap. Apparently, it will be timed to hit just before the Collector's Edition of Lineage II will launch in Europe.
