Don't worry, they're not expensive, just useless

Lindy Electronics has just announced a new offering of flat and flexible HDMI cables for using in home cinema setups. The cables are available in different lengths, ranging from one to five meters, depending
on the environment.

Apart from being flat and extremely white, the Lindy Electronics cables are as common as any HDMI connector available on the market. The only worth-mentioning feature is its hardened 24K gold plated connectors that are alleged to increase their reliability as well as their lifespan. The HDMI cables are made from double shielded, high intensity twisted pair cable using copper.

The cables come in white color only, in order to match "modern home cinema equipment and streaming media devices such as Apple TV". Just a quick reminder to the company, not every home-theater owner buys a Mac to go along with the cable, so it would have been nice to have other matching colors, such as fuchsia or magenta, for example.

"With more companies following Apple's lead in stylish design it can be frustrating to spend time and money setting up an installation only to have the effect ruined by thick dark coloured cables," comments Stephen Fawcett, Senior Product Manager of LINDY Electronics. "Flat, white cables not only make it easier to hide them out of sight, they have the added advantage that even where they are visible, at least they blend in with users' equipment."

The cable is fully compatible with the HDMI standard and support HDMI 1.3 devices at a display resolution of 1080p. The white cables are part of a "stylish range of white cables", that includes "Component Video, stereo audio and CAT5e types, all designed to complement the latest audio-visual devices".

Those of you who are already overwhelmed by Lindy's offering, the white cable with golden connectors can be purchased from the producer's webpage. Pricing starts at $33 for the 1 meter cable, but you can enjoy a 25 years (to life) warranty.
