Legally troubled actress Lindsay Lohan sat down for a taping of Today with Matt Lauer, and the first excerpts of that interview, which will air on NBC tomorrow, have emerged online and are available on the official webpage.

To explain why she might sound like the little boy who cried wolf, Lindsay, who is one court hearing away from being in the clear regarding most of her pending legal issues, says she was delusional before.

It's not that she lied when, for instance, last year, she told the same Lauer that she was back on track, back to work and ready to prove she was also an actress and not just a celebrity: she simply didn't realize the kind of problems she was having.

“Definitely and I think it was – it's a scary thing to have to kind of express to people,” the star says of how delusional she'd been in past interviews.

“I wasn't as comfortable with myself then. I think it was a fear factor that I had about what was really going on. And, you know, I had to get that wakeup call,” she adds.

Now that she has and she has made a change for the better in her life, she's ready to work, starting with the Saturday Night Live hosting gig she has scheduled for this week.

She wants to do everything in her power to get industry people to notice said change and to convince them that they can rely on her again, after all she's done and how she's disappointed them by not being a pro.

“I think that that's gonna take – I think that takes time. And I think that it's actions. Because people can say things all they want, but I think I still need to go through the process of proving myself, you know, with 'SNL,' being on time, being, you know, keeping my – can't say the word – but stuff together,” Lindsay says.

“I don't want people to have that reason to be scared anymore. So being able to have this opportunity with 'SNL' and the film, I'm gonna do what I'm supposed to do, and enjoy doing it, and do it as best as I can,” the star adds.

In the same interview, Lindsay promises she's not partying anymore and confirms that she'll be playing the lead in a new Elizabeth Taylor biopic for Lifetime. See more here.
