Lindsay Lohan has moved temporarily to London, where she’s hoping to make the comeback she failed to get in the US with Oprah’s OWN docuseries, by appearing in a theater play, “Speed the Plow.” Her first night was billed a trainwreck and a disaster, but Lindsay believes whoever said that needs some perspective on things.

Speaking with The Mirror to promote the play, Lindsay promises once more that, this time, she will not mess up by being unprofessional, as she’s wont to do whenever she gets a “second chance.”

Her first night wasn’t all that bad, who are you kidding?

To those saying that her debut night was a trainwreck and a disaster, Lindsay has only this to say: a disaster would have been if she hadn’t shown up at all, which pretty much sounds like she’s boasting of showing up, as if she weren’t paid for the job.

“It could’ve been a disaster – but it wasn’t by far. I could’ve not shown up. But of course I did, it’s my show. Everyone is always going to be judgmental, no matter what. I respect people have an opinion, but I’m doing the best I can and will for the duration. I’m doing this because working makes me feel happy and this is a new venture for me,” she says.

She admits to experiencing a bit of stage fright, which made her forget and fumble some of her lines, but other than that, she believes she did well, especially considering she’s never done theater before.

“Everyone has been really great. I love the stage manager… they’ve all been kind, gracious and comforting. Every night feels more natural and comfortable. I’m not used to a live audience, it’s a much quicker buzz,” the actress continues.

Lindsay has run out of second chances back home in the US

At this point, Lindsay has no other choice but to make an impression with this play, because she’s burned all her bridges back home, in the US. It’s not just the fans and the media who have lost all hope of actually seeing her keep her word and stay focused on work, but industry people as well.

Right now, no one wants to work with her anymore because she’s considered too big a risk for the kind of profit she can generate. Her much-derided Elizabeth Taylor biopic for Lifetime is an example of that: on the set of this film, she not only caused a car crash and totaled a Mercedes, but she was repeatedly late, making production extend well past the deadline and the budget.

Being offered the role in this London play couldn’t have come at a better time, because she wasn’t exactly in high demand. Read: she wasn’t at all, and she still needed the money to continue living the same way she did when she brought home the bacon.

Lindsay might be saying she could have not shown up to offer her haters some perspective, but the sad reality (for her) is that she’s in no place to act a diva right now, not if she doesn’t want people mocking her again for being unprofessional and spoilt.
