Lindsay Lohan may be one of the most narcissistic, shamelessly self-absorbed young actresses in Hollywood, and her once-promising career heading nowhere fast, however there is one thing that cannot be denied even by her harshest critics - namely that the thrice-rehabbed party girl has probably the most annoyingly controlling and fame-whoring parents in Hollywood. Lindsay's mother Dina - who only achieved a modicum of fame after her own daughter became famous - is currently shooting her own reality TV series for E!, while Lindsay's ex-jailbird daddy is currently working as a minister and counselor with a teen rehabilitation program and has taken to giving his own daughter advice via the media - while of course getting to share a bit of the spotlight himself.

Michael's latest exploit was to tell the world that his daughter Lindsay would be joining his church on a mission to India. Not only has Lindsay's PR representative denied this claim, but Lindsay herself spoke out during a radio show the other day, finally admitting that she had had enough of her father's false statements. "I just wish that he wouldn't go and talk to the media," Lohan said on radio's The Billy Bush Show. "It's not attractive to me, it really upsets me and I wish he would stop. I love my father. I just don't know why he's doing what he's doing. It's a weird situation, very odd," she added. Of course, Lindsay's dad couldn't handle the dispute like a true adult, by talking to his daughter face to face and sparing us the media circus (not to mention a great deal of embarrassment). Instead, he chose to give her a piece of his mind - again, via the media.

"I think we can all see that her present so-called friends and management have her focused on the wrong projects and things," he told Ben Widdicombe of the New York Daily News. "If Lindsay would just listen to me and follow my guidance, like she did when her life was on the right path, and before the people you see now that are in her life, I guarantee that her life would straighten out and she'd be back to being the gifted actress everyone knew and loved," Lohan Sr. added. Of course, that amount of modesty is absolutely impressive - almost as much as his desire to control every single aspect of his daughter's life. Of course, all parents probably have difficulties in letting their children go, but Michael Lohan's attempts to manipulate his own daughter are impressive by any standards.
