Lindsay Lohan was on David Letterman last night to promote her docuseries, “Lindsay,” which is still airing on OWN now but has seen a very steep decline in ratings, and, at one point, she came up with the idea of prank calling Oprah.

You can see the segment in the video below.

As far as prank calls go, this is neither the most original nor the funniest (far from it, actually), but it is revealing in that it shows that Lindsay may actually be on the right path, after too many “second chances” to even count.

David’s idea of a prank call consists of telling Oprah that he’s Lindsay Lohan’s assistant and then giving his name the moment he realizes Oprah is having none of it. He then asks her if she thinks Lindsay is ok and, as Oprah speaks, the camera zooms in on Lohan trying to wipe the tears from her eyes.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with Lindsay’s exploits, right after she emerged from court-ordered rehab, she was taken by Oprah as her protégée, whilst being given the chance to have a proper comeback through the docuseries, which aims to prove to the world that she’s in earnest now about a clean, sober life.

OWN is Oprah’s network, and the “Queen of Television” is credited as producer on the series, but also as Lindsay’s mentor.
