Assuming everything goes well with her trial, Lindsay Lohan will reboot her acting career with a part in “Gotti: Three Generations,” opposite John Travolta and Kelly Preston. One thing that will not happen, though, will be her conversion to Scientology.

Even before Lindsay was confirmed for the part, she attended the “Gotti” press conference, where she posed for pictures with the two stars and Victoria Gotti.

Once her name was officially attached to the film, speculation started to make the rounds that the Travoltas, well-known Scientologists, were trying to get her to become a member of the much-mediated religious cult.

There’s no foundation to these reports, a source close to Lindsay tells TMZ: she’s a Catholic and has every intention to remain, and that excludes becoming a Scientologist.

“Lindsay Lohan is NOT joining the Church of Scientology... TMZ has learned – despite reports claiming John Travolta was trying to indoctrinate the actress into his religion,” the e-zine says.

Reports said that Travolta introduced Lohan to Scientology, promising her that it would offer a solution to all her problems by putting things into a new perspective.

“Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, the actress has no plans whatsoever to become a Scientologist – she hasn’t taken any classes with the Church and hasn’t even been asked to visit by current members,” TMZ reports.

“We’re told Lindsay has nothing against the Church – but she was raised Catholic and plans to stay Catholic; in fact, she remains an avid practitioner to this day,” the e-zine adds.

Rumors like the one squashed above are a dime a dozen, and they usually emerge when a known Scientologist works with another high-profile person.

The same happened in the case of Kirstie Alley and her Dancing With the Stars partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy: shortly after the new DWTS season kicked off, reports were saying she was actively trying to get him to turn to Scientology, as we also reported at the time.
