Andy Cohen is no longer executive producer on RHONY but he’s open to the idea

Lindsay Lohan might think that reality television is somehow beneath her (unless, of course, she’s doing a docuseries, which is just like a reality show, only slightly different) but she’s not opposed to her mother being on one, especially if it’s one of Bravo’s Real Housewives series.

Last week, Lindsay was on Bravo for an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live meant to promote her OWN docuseries, which wrapped over the weekend. Cohen was executive producer on the Real Housewives of New York and, while he no longer occupies this position, he can still suggest changes to producers.

Lindsay would like him to consider her mother Dina for a spot, Radar Online reports. She reportedly presented him with her idea before the interview, as they talked about Jill Zarin, who was on RHONY some time ago but was fired.

Admittedly, if Andy makes this happen for Dina, Lindsay promised him he’d get Jill Zarin back as well because she and Dina are good friends. They would come as a package and hopefully revive a bit the dismal ratings the show has been getting for the past couple of seasons.

“Jill has been a very close family friend to the Lohans for years. Lindsay had an opportunity to talk to Andy Cohen off camera about what a great person she thinks Jill is, and the raw deal she got after leaving Real Housewives of New York. Lindsay is a big fan of RHONY, and really wants her mom to be on the show, and thinks Andy should push Bravo executives to bring Jill back as well,” an insider says for the e-zine.

“With the current season of RHONY tanking in the ratings, Jill and Dina could definitely add the buzz the show is lacking! Dina has wanted to appear on the Bravo New York housewives franchise even before it aired… but she was passed over,” adds the spy.

Cohen is no longer in a position to call the shots as far as this series is concerned but he’s still got some pull with the producers so, if he really wanted this to happen, he could talk them into it. As per the same report, he didn’t say no when Lindsay first told him what she’d thought of.

To venture a guess, we’d say people would probably tune in to see Dina on RHONY, perhaps more than they did for Lindsay on the OWN docuseries. Dina doesn’t make headlines as much as her famous daughter, but she is believed to lead a life almost as controversial as hers, so that would definitely make for interesting TV.
