Teenage actress Lindsay Lohan is going to testify in her parents divorce case, which got under way in Long Island, N.Y., on Wednesday. Lohan's mother and co-manager Dina sued Lindsay's father for divorce and this one asked for a cut of his daughter's earnings in response.
Lindsay's father is serving four years in prison, for assault and drink-driving, and has battled for years against alcohol and cocaine addictions.
New York Daily News reports that Lohan, 19, and her brother Michael Jr, 17, are going to testify at the trial. Supreme Court Judge Robert Ross ruled that the divorce proceedings will be closed to the public and the press.
In his written decision, Judge Ross called attempts by Michael and others to capitalize on the family's hardship "cruel, intolerable and dysfunctional."
Lindsay has admitted she's worried for her mother, regarding this trial. "My mum has always been a great support, and she has put so much of her own life into my career. I do worry about her," the actress told People magazine.
"I don't think any girl wants to see her parents in this situation."
