Actress Lindsay Lohan decided to talk about her tumultuous life, after she saw the amount of comments in the media about her dramatic weight loss. In the last months, she broke up with her boyfriend, got a reputation as a late-night party girl and was admitted to hospital for exhaustion.

"I think people lie a lot," she says. "I'm growing up and I just went through puberty a year ago. I'm 18 years old. Give me a break. It's true that I was working very hard last year when I was making Herbie and I wasn't taking the best care of myself.

"I was working a lot and pushing myself and went to the hospital because I got sick and run-down. I wasn't taking care of myself and I was eating junk food and not working out and not being healthy.

"After that I said I want to take myself seriously and focus on my career. This is my life and my dream and I don't want to mess it up. So now I work out and eat healthy and just take care of myself.

"And my mother would kill me if I did anything stupid, trust me."

Lohan debuted in showbizz at age 12, in a remake of an even older Disney family classic, The Parent Trap. But she reached the celebrity status after the movies Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.
