Hours ago, Lindsay Lohan faced the music on her latest (alleged) crime, that of stealing a $2,500 gold necklace from an LA jewelry store shortly after leaving rehab. There’s good news and bad news, with the latter being that she will be going to jail soon.
The good news is that the grand theft charge was dropped to a misdemeanor, which means Lindsay still has a good chance of going free when her trial begins next month,
TMZ reports.
The bad news is that the judge found Lindsay in violation of her parole and, for that alone, she will do 120 days in county jail – but she has the possibility to post bail / bond and stay out of prison until the trial ends.
“Judge Stephanie Sautner just threw the book at Lindsay Lohan for her probation violation, sentencing her to 120 days in county jail!!!” TMZ writes.
“Lindsay has been remanded into custody and taken to the basement of the courthouse for booking. Lindsay’s lawyer has said she’ll appeal, which means Lindsay is entitled to post bail,” the e-zine further notes.
The sentence also comes with lots of community service – again, only on the charge of violation of parole.
“Lohan was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service – 360 of those hours must be performed at the Downtown Women’s Center, so Lindsay can see how needy women have to live. The remaining 120 hours will be served at the L.A. County morgue,” TMZ notes.
The e-zine reports that, after the trial, Lohan was taken to the Lynwood Correctional Facility, where she’s already spent some time last year on her DUI charge, where she was booked.
She was sprung by a bondsman on a $75,000 bail and will have to be in court again in May for her pretrial hearing.
After the trial, if she’s found guilty of theft, this could add to her sentence. Even if she’s found innocent, she will still be going to prison for parole violation.
