Earlier this month, Lindsay Lohan missed rehearsals for her cameo with Charlie Sheen on “Scary Movie 5,” telling friends that she had a bad case of “walking pneumonia.” It turns out she was telling the truth.

TMZ reports that the actress has been hospitalized in New York after a health scare. She has been released ever since and is now at a hotel.

“Lindsay Lohan was rushed to the emergency room in NYC last night and sources connected to the actress tell us she's suffering from a bad lung infection,” TMZ reports.

“We're told Lindsay was taken to Mt. Sinai, where she received medication for the infection – including antibiotics – and was discharged shortly after. Lindsay's currently resting back in her hotel room,” says the same media outlet.

When word first got out that she was telling friends she had “walking pneumonia,” celebrity pundits assumed she’d merely come up with another lie to excuse her unprofessionalism for skipping out on work commitments.

Eventually though, Lindsay did make it on the set of the horror parody, as this photo, the first official still from “Scary Movie 5” confirms it.

At the same time, insiders have been telling the tabs that Lindsay and Charlie Sheen got along famously, even cracking some jokes about their troubles with the law and substance abuse over the past several years.

“Lindsay was a great sport. She was poking fun at herself, and she really got into it and seemed to enjoy it,” one tipster said, adding that she even “shared some playful pillow talk during shooting” with Sheen.

“They were ad-libbing. They were joking that they’ve both had a lot of issues over the past couple of years,” the spy further claimed, as we also informed you at the time.

TMZ’s report is confirmed by Lindsay Lohan’s Twitter feed: there’s been complete radio silence since September 23, which can only mean she wasn’t well enough to tweet.
