Lindsay Lohan Ruins Another Movie

- The actress is playing the friend of the psychopathic killer who murdered John Lennon

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

Good news to those of you who were hoping to see formerly drugged-out actress Lindsay Lohan get her acting career back on track: one of the actress' movies is coming out at the end of March. The bad news is that "Chapter 27", in which Lindsay stars opposite an uncharacteristically
fat Jared Leto, is not set to be the most hyped premiere of the season – on the contrary. The independent movie deals with three days in the life of Mark David Chapman, right before the psychotic murderer shot and killed Beatles legend John Lennon. It's worth mentioning that it has already caused a lot of controversy in the U.S., where it had trouble securing a distributor after an alleged boycott by a large number of Lennon's fans.

Trust Lindsay Lohan to step right into the middle of a controversy. But since we all know she's a proud member of Hollywood's "most infamous young actresses" club, this means that she relished media and public attention - so I'm not entirely surprised that she chose to embark on such a project. The movie gathered largely negative reviews, while some of Lennon's fans accused the producers of glamorizing the life of Lennon's assassin. As for Lindsay herself, she plays Jude, a friend of the obsessive Chapman who sports dark, reddish hair but comes across as rather tired and bored with her own performance.

In any case, the essential part is that finally, Lindsay is back on our screens. Which should make us all happy, especially her long-lost-and-found-again father Michael, who stated last week that his daughter is in fact a "silver screen star" who is wasting her potential on doing cameos in her mother's own reality show. The good news (again) is that Lindsay's performance, however low-key and not immediately impressive, is not nearly bad enough to secure the actress another Golden Razzie, like it was the case with her ultimate masterpiece "I Know Who Killed Me". Which is always good news, I think. You can watch the trailer below, and while you're keeping an eye out for Lindsay, you can make up your mind on whether you like the "fat" version of Jared Leto or the currently slimmed down one.
