Lindsay Lohan is not only drug and alcohol-free now that she’s completed her stay in rehab at the beginning of the year, but she’s also taken the first steps to kick another addiction of hers: she quit smoking.
The legally-troubled actress is determined to turn her life around, and that also includes opting for a healthier lifestyle, a new report in
TMZ suggests.
She’s currently standing trial on the charge of grand theft, but she will not let that affect her recovery or weaken her determination of showing the world that she’s really back on the right track.
Lindsay and her mom have flown back to New York City, where the actress will supposedly remain until she’s due back in court, presumably because she’s better off there, somewhat out of the spotlight.
While there, she’ll also focus more on her new, nicotine-free life, since she quit smoking about a week or so ago.
“Lindsay Lohan has quit smoking – a great move for her health... whether there’s a jail sentence for probation violation on her horizon or not (as she continues to believe),” TMZ writes.
“Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ she’s continuing on the path to a healthier life by kicking her nicotine habit... cold turkey no less. We’re told Lindsay quit about a week ago and now works out with a trainer every morning,” the e-zine further says.
However, the decision to give up cigarettes may also have something to do with the possible jail sentence awaiting her once the trial is concluded, the report suggests.
“While LiLo has been adamant about not accepting a plea bargain that includes jail time – Lynwood Correctional Facility, her old haunts, is a non-smoking detention center,” TMZ writes.
Whichever may be the case, it certainly looks like Lindsay is determined to make the most of
her last chance, as she calls it.
However, she still has some issues with the ever-intruding paparazzi, who welcomed her when she arrived in NYC – and she was not at all happy about it, as she says on her
Twitter.
