Lindsay Lohan has only weeks to go until her probation is up and she could be a truly free woman, assuming she stays out of trouble until then. To make sure that happens, she plans to put herself under house arrest.

Just this past week, the star was again in all the headlines after a man claimed she hit him with her car as she was leaving the parking lot of a club, a claim she strongly denied.

Lindsay knows that she's innocent – and she certainly made sure she told everybody about it too – but she also wants people to stop thinking only evil of her in the future.

So, she's making sure she stays put until her probation is up, TMZ has learned.

“Lindsay Lohan is done gambling with her freedom – after another bout with trouble just this week, she is following the advice of her closest friends and putting herself on lockdown until her probation is up in two weeks,” the celebrity e-zine reports.

“Although she claims she did nothing wrong, Lindsay once again found herself in the news this week for all the wrong reasons, when a clubgoer claimed LiLo hit him with her car in Hollywood early Thursday morning,” TMZ adds.

“According to our sources, the latest incident prompted people close to Lindsay to beg her to stop going out at night until her probation is over. We're told Lindsay agreed and will now only leave her house when she really has to, like for her court ordered community service at the morgue,” the same report notes.

As noted above, though the clubgoer went to the police to file a complaint against Lindsay, she took to her Twitter to rubbish his claims.

There was no “scrape” and there was certainly no hit and run, she wrote on her official page. There were lots of paparazzi and mayhem, which is why she chose to skip going into the club and headed straight for home.

The “false accusations are absurd,” the legally troubled star wrote.
