Lindsay Lohan is currently in Hawaii on vacation, with the seal of approval from the Probation Department. While getting some well-deserved R&R, the star landed in troubled waters again, this time, without actually doing anything.

Her purse was stolen from her car, where she'd left it while she attended a party, TMZ reports.

In it – a Chanel bag estimated at $5,000 (€3,769) – Lindsay had legal documents, including her passport, and a lot of money.

“Sources tell TMZ, Linds had been at a house party in Laie, Hawaii for about two hours – NOT drinking – and accidentally left her $5,000 Chanel purse in the car. When she came out, the purse was gone,” TMZ says.

If the costly purse wasn't enough of a loss, the e-zine also reports Lindsay also had important documents in it.

“According to sources, the purse contained her passport (and other ID), her probation paperwork – giving her permission to take the trip – and lots of cold hard cash,” TMZ further says.

In a separate post, the celebrity e-zine reports that the purse was returned to Lindsay: all documents were still in it, but the money was (not surprisingly) gone.

When she noticed the purse was missing, Lindsay called the cops to report it missing. She stayed long after they had left and, aided by friends, continued to search for it.

“One of her friend's eyed a suspicious-looking local, and asked if he knew where the bag was. We're told the local denied everything, but showed up with the bag minutes later, claiming he found it on the street somewhere,” TMZ writes.

Apparently, Lindsay was so happy to have her ID back that she didn't even seem to mind the missing cash.

“We're told Lindsay was so ecstatic to have the bag back, she didn't bother asking questions – despite the missing $10,000,” the aforementioned media outlet writes.
