Lindsay Lohan Pulls the Plug on Her Mother!

It was about time, too. Yes, well, as much as I don't trust Lindsay Lohan's "rebirth from her own ashes" media stunt, I must say that - if this is really true - it's probably the smartest move she has done so far. She should have begun with this, and then maybe everyone else would have taken her a bit more seriously. But the fact is, LiLo has gone public saying that she is severing ties with all the people who proved to have a negative influence on her and on her career, and that includes her own, mother.

"Lindsay fired Dina as her manager", says an inside source. "She is livid about all this press her mom is doing on this NYC apartment that she'll never even live in; Dina even gave Access Hollywood a tour of the apartment two nights ago". And let me say this: it's a relief to finally see Lindsay looking at some of the people and things in her life with a clear, non-impulsive head and not while she was high on one thing or another. And her mother has been a continuous source of embarrassment and trouble for Lindsay, as she has been doing her best to steal some of the spotlight and draw attention to herself.

"I am doing my best to surround myself with good people who have their hearts and minds in the right places", Lindsay stated for OK! "That's what I plan on doing." And drugged-out boozer Dina, apparently, is not one of those people. She was blamed repeatedly for making bad managing decisions as far as Lindsay's career was concerned and picking out roles that were not suitable for her daughter (such as for instance those in Just My Luck and Herbie: Fully Loaded).

As a result, Dina may also lose her reality show with E! because she signed a six-episode reality show deal with them which she mainly secured by promising that Lindsay would star alongside her. "They tolerate her simply to get to Lindsay - the real star in the family. When Lindsay found out about the show, she went mad at her mother. She is upset her mom would use her name and sign off on paperwork involving her career without even consulting her. The two haven't even spoken in weeks except to fight".

"Everything is different when you have a clear mind and focus on the right things", Lindsay stated - and we're sort of beginning to see her point. Which is good news. Not to mention the fact that we'll soon have either a statement war between LiLo and mum to enjoy, or a whole lot of whining from Dina's part to put up with. I vote war!
