Out of rehab for some months but still in some legal trouble because of that pesky grand theft charge, Lindsay Lohan seems to be on the right track to get her acting career back. She’s about to close a deal for the upcoming Gotti biopic, it has emerged.
Nothing official on the film has yet been announced, but it is known that John Travolta will be involved in the project and perhaps
Kim Kardashian too.
We can now add another paparazzi-favorite to the list in the person of Lindsay Lohan, who,
TMZ says, is
thisclose to closing the deal for the female lead.
“Lindsay Lohan’s on the verge of signing her first big contract out of rehab – in fact, we’re told the actress is in ‘final talks’ to play John Gotti’s daughter Victoria in the upcoming biopic about the mafioso’s life,” TMZ says.
John Travolta is also in talks for the movie: he’s eyeing the part of Gotti himself, says the same media outlet.
“It’s no small movie either,” TMZ points out. “According to sources, the budget so far is $75 million. No word yet on what Lindsay would be getting paid – but hey, a job’s a job,” the e-zine says.
Previous reports said that Lindsay was also reading for
the villain part in the upcoming “Superman: Man of Steel” from director Zack Snyder, and that she was being considered for
the role of Sharon Tate in an upcoming Charles Manson biopic.
Unfortunately, neither of this has been confirmed, which means that, for the time being, Lindsay is still out of a job.
For years now, the actress has been struggling to find good movie roles and the few she did get ended up panned by critics and straight to DVD.
Her recent legal woes have done nothing in terms of boosting her profile as a serious actress, which is why word online has it that this is officially her last chance at proving the world she’s not famous for no reason.
