Robert Rodriguez’s latest film, “Machete” comes with an all-stellar cast that includes, among others, Lindsay Lohan. Strangely, she’s yet to make an appearance at the premiere of the film.

It’s not without good reason that this happened, sources say for Us Magazine, since it’s co-director Robert Rodriguez himself who made it clear to Lohan she was not welcome.

This is how come the movie is now being promoted only by Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez. Lindsay is not welcome on the red carpet.

Admittedly, Rodriguez fears the bad publicity Lohan’s presence at the premiere will generate could ultimately harm the way the film fares with audiences, which is why he doesn’t want her there.

“Though the actress was released from postjail rehab on Aug. 24 after 22 days, a source tells the new Us Weekly Robert Rodriguez, codirector of her new movie, Machete, didn’t want her to attend an event for the film the next night,” Us Magazine writes.

“He was frantically trying to track down her manager to make sure she didn’t go,” a source well in the know dishes. “She wasn’t welcome there,” the spy adds.

Us Magazine also went to the trouble of contacting 20th Century Fox to find out whether Lindsay was truly banned from the “Machete” premiere, but a source says “it’s not true” this ever happened.

In other Lindsay Lohan’s acting career-related rumors, word in the tabloids has it she’s set her sight on landing the part of Mary Jane Watson in the fourth “Spider-Man” film, the reboot.

After the legally troubled star told Vanity Fair, for the October 2010 issue, that she was determined to get her acting career back and, for once and for all, prove the world that she’s a talented thespian, speculation about what her next project might be immediately began.

One report claims her friends talked her into seeking an audition with Sony for Mary Jane, as we also reported yesterday.

We should also note for those keeping their fingers crossed to see Lindsay as Peter Parker’s love interest in “Spider-Man 4” that chances of it happening are slim since it is believed the character will be replaced by a new one.
