Lindsay Lohan Is Jesus Christ for Purple Fashion Magazine

When she’s not making headlines for her troubled personal life, which almost always gets press because of the crowd of paparazzi following her around the clock, Lindsay Lohan gets attention with controversial, some say artsy, photospreads. After the publication of the highly mediated Muse photospread, the star is again in the media for posing as Jesus Christ for the Spring 2010 issue of Purple Fashion magazine, as Radar Online can confirm.

So far, only the cover for the upcoming number has been unveiled, but it has proved to be more than enough to get some flaring. It shows Lindsay Lohan in a white, floor-long gown, with a very low-cut cleavage and long sleeves, with her arms widely spread apart. There is no cross on which she’s pinned, but the imagery is strong enough to create the impression that she’s doing a crucifixion pose. Moreover, there’s a crown of what appears to be thorns on her head.

“Lindsay Lohan continues to court controversy. The actress recently posed as Jesus Christ for the cover of French fashion magazine Purple’s Spring Summer 2010 issue. In the shot taken by Gucci photographer Terry Richardson, the Mean Girls star is pictured draped in a plunging white robe, wearing a crown of thorns with her arms stretched out in a crucifix-like position,” Radar writes.

“She is following in her father Michael’s biblical footsteps- he dressed as Joseph in a Times Square nativity scene a couple of years ago. Lohan, 23, has a well-documented passion for fashion, working as the as artistic director for designer Emmanuel Ungaro last year. In the Purple issue, Lohan dons clothes by Ungaro, as well as designers Zac Posen and Alexander McQueen,” the same publication goes on to say.

As we were also telling you just hours ago, famed British designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London apartment the other day. He was just 40 and was believed to be suffering from depression. Police have not yet issued any statement about the cause of death, but reports in the media are saying he may have hanged himself.
