14 DAY TRIAL // Over the weekend, word got out that Lindsay Lohan, having just arrived at the Coachella Music Festival 2014, had pledged to stay sober throughout the festivities because she was serious about her post-rehab comeback attempts. She’s already fallen off the wagon in the most spectacular fashion, two separate reports claim.
Lindsay is now working to get back into the good graces of the public, through a docuseries on Oprah’s OWN network and a string of public appearances. She’s very vocal about proving to the world that she’s not a celebrity but an actress, and she’s itching to go back to work in front of the camera.
Meanwhile, she’s partying in style. Lindsay has just completed another court-mandated stay in rehab as part of her many run-ins with the law, so the last thing she should be doing is booze it up – but she’s doing it either way.
“She couldn’t stand up straight and she was frantically chain smoking cigarettes. In one of her hands she had a plastic cup with a clear liquid in it,” an insider tells InTouch. Lindsay was attending the Kid Cudi show and she “looked completely out of it,” she was totally drunk.
“The group [of Lohan and her pals were] standing in a small cabana, booth-type thing and one of the friends was making regular trips to the bar. I overheard the friend order four vodka sodas and when he carried them back to the group. He handed one to Lindsay and she started drinking it,” the insider continues, adding that Lindsay was past the point of caring who saw her or not.
Coincidence or not, but there’s another similar report making the rounds, which further strengthens the chance that there might be some truth to all these rumors. Radar Online says that Lindsay has been drinking heavily in past weeks and that friends are worried she’s back to square one.
To make matters even worse, Lindsay is not doing so well professionally either. As ratings for the docuseries Lindsay continue down the steep downward path, she is getting into more drama than ever.
This Sunday’s episode, for instance, saw her infuriate the fashion editor for Elle Indonesia, who had traveled all the way to New York for a shoot and an interview, only to be taught a harsh lesson in unprofessionalism by Lohan, who kept showing up late and acting like a diva.
With all her efforts and her promises that “all I want to do is act,” offers aren’t exactly pouring in for Lindsay. At the moment, she’s producing and starring in her own movie, which she announced at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, but that too has been surrounded in controversy.
