14 DAY TRIAL // Lindsay Lohan recently completed a jail sentence and court-ordered rehab but that’s no guarantee she can stay out of trouble. The star tested positive for cocaine just hours ago during a random drug test.
Part of her probation once she completed the mandatory jail and rehab stint was to submit herself to random drug tests (which she must pass with flying colors) and to check in with her probation officer regularly.
The other day, Lindsay was tested for drugs and she came out positive – cocaine, TMZ says. This could send her back to jail, reports say.
“Lindsay failed the court-mandated drug test – and according to the terms of her probation, she will go back to jail for 30 days as a result,” TMZ says.
“Sources close to Lindsay say she’s been telling friends she’s ‘getting her life together.’ However, we’re also told, she’s surrounded herself with some ‘bad influences’,” the same media outlet informs.
In an unprecedented move, not only has Lindsay owned up to failing the drug test by taking cocaine, but she’s also spoken about her addiction on Twitter.
Ironically enough, it’s just weeks that she was telling Vanity Fair she absolutely did not have a problem with illegal substances, let alone an addiction to cocaine and alcohol as speculated in the media.
“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result,” Lindsay tweeted shortly after word of her failed drug test got out in the press.
“Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future,” she goes on to say.
“This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences,” the actress further says.
Also on Twitter, Lindsay thanks her fans and all those who supported her in the past – and continue to do so today, with the latest mishap and everything.
“I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that I am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful... Thank you all!!!” Lindsay writes.
