Figures speak louder than words: Lindsay Lohan has not had a hit movie since too long to remember. For an actress that started off in a very promising manner and on whom critics pinned very high expectations, this is most disheartening and, what’s even worse, it doesn’t look like things are about to get better any time soon, TMZ informs.

According to the celebrity gossip e-zine and paparazzi agency, Lindsay was to appear next in “The Other Side,” scheduled for tentative release this year. Also featuring heavy names like Woody Harrelson, Anjelica Houston and singer Alanis Morissette, the dramedy would have been the perfect vehicle for Lindsay to win her way back into the hearts of the critics and the fans. Sadly, the director considered she might do more damage to the production than the other way around and she’s been sacked, says the report.

“Lindsay Lohan was axed from a movie because she’s not ‘bankable’ – this according a source connected with the production of the flick. Lindsay was slated to star in ‘The Other Side,’ a movie about a grad student working on a deserted island. David Michaels, the writer/director, tells TMZ, ‘Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we’ll soon be announcing a replacement’,” TMZ says. That she’s no longer attached to the project is the official line, for rumors say she’s actually been fired for her behavior these past few months.

“Sources connected with the film tell us the people financing the film were skittish about relying on Lindsay. The movie also stars Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette. And there’s this twist... at one point Brittany Murphy was attached to the movie,” TMZ goes on to say. This could mean that Lindsay’s been deemed a liability and the director decided to move on without her.

A spokesperson for the actress was also contacted for a comment on this, but he was not immediately available. In the meantime, Lindsay continues to wage a very public war of words with her estranged father, Michael Lohan who, just days ago, took police over to her apartment for a “welfare visit” for the benefit of Lindsay’s younger sister, Ali, as we also informed you at the time.
