Critics say Lindsay Lohan’s acting career is long dead, no matter how many straight to DVD and TV movies she makes. Despite the fact that her leggings collection and self-tanner were both successful, rumors about the dire state of her finances still plague the freckled actress. Her latest trip to Millions of Milkshakes in LA, where she made and served a signature shake to customers, is not helping at all in this sense.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton witnessed Lohan’s entrance in the parlor, where a crowd of paparazzi was already assembled. Also in attendance were tens of fans who gathered when the snappers told them who they were waiting for – rumor has it that Lohan herself called the paps in advance, letting them know of her whereabouts so they could come and take her picture. According to Perez, the actress was there specifically to mix her own shake and serve it to customers.

Dressed in a white backless dress, equipped with an apron and gloves, Lindsay Lohan reportedly had some trouble at first getting the shake right, but she soon caught up, under the guidance of an employee, and was able to offer the Lindsay Lohan Shake to the fans waiting. Again, while no official statement as to the actress endorsing the product has yet been released, reports say the Lohan Shake will now be included on all menus at Millions of Milkshakes. In doing so, nay-sayers conclude, the once-promising actress has just sunk to a whole new level of low, where she would do almost anything to get the attention of the media.

However, press attention is the last thing Lindsay wants, if one were to consider one of her older interviews. In it, the actress was trying to redeem her reputation, saying she only got a bad rap because of the tabloids and made-up stories being circulated in the media. She was, as per her own words, only looking to do movies and prove herself as a good actress, but the stories run on her – most of which were not even true to begin with – made it impossible for her to get any good offers from movie studios anymore.

“I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs and I don’t lie. I love to act and write and be creative and I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever may need it. If people would just leave my personal life alone – because it’s really not that interesting – then I could land a great role. But all the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting.” Lohan was saying back in March.

Critics can be a pretty big nay-sayers but no, her career is likely anything but dead (Labor Pains, the movie itself, was fine, not fantastic; if anything it proved to those who doubted, that her ability to evolve her persona/grab the character was still very intact.)
As for her appearance at Millions of Milkshakes, a very positive and typical public celebrity Hollywood appearance, (repleat with holding a baby); it was hardly barrel bottom stuff. Perfectly fine.
There may be a difference between what some critics wish and what really is.

Don, there certainly IS a big difference between what critics say and what really is, which is why I said “critics say” and not “the fans” or “the public.” Lindsay Lohan will undoubtedly continue to make movies and they will undoubtedly sell. However, speaking strictly of her art, critics believe she has gone to a place she can’t come back from, but that’s not to say she’s not going to sell anymore. Quite the contrary actually. :) Thank you for your comment.
