14 DAY TRIAL // A short while ago, on her very well received stint on “Glee,” Gwyneth Paltrow played a Spanish teacher who, among other things, cracked a few Lindsay Lohan jokes. Lohan’s mother, Dina, is now telling Radar Online that the rehabbing actress is simply heartbroken by the unnecessary cracks.
As we also informed you at the time, shortly after the “Glee” episode aired, Dina said she was thinking of suing producers for making fun of her daughter at such a troubled time in her life.
“Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?” and “How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?” were the two Lindsay Lohan jokes Gwyneth’s character made on the show.
According to Dina, they were two too many, because Lindsay actually considered Gwyneth a friend and was deeply hurt to see her mocking her on TV.
“Lindsay is so upset with Gwyneth. Lindsay was watching it while in Betty Ford, then she called me and was upset and said, ‘Why did she have to do that?’” Dina tells Radar.
“We are the first to make fun of ourselves in our family,” she underlines. Therefore, this is not even an issue of not having a sense of humor – just that Gwyneth’s timing couldn’t have been worse had she tried.
“And Lindsay has even done SNL a few times, but Gwyneth went overboard and it was unnecessary,” Dina goes on to say.
Admittedly, Lindsay actually believed she and Gwyneth were friends, which only made the entire situation worse because she felt back-stabbed by her.
“Lindsay thought she was a friend and it was disappointing. It was really hard for her to watch... it was hurtful not funny,” Dina goes on to explain.
As for the year to come, Dina wants a fresh start for Lindsay. “2011 is going to be different,” she says with confidence.
Oddly enough, Dina Lohan doesn’t say anything anymore about suing the “Glee” producer for defamation of character over the Lindsay Lohan jokes on the aforementioned episode.
